The journey has come, not to a screeching halt, but rather to a restful siesta. After eight months and six days on the road. Some 34,352 miles down the highways and byways. Through 34 of these United States.
What? Only 34 states? That is correct, we mosied back to our stomping grounds in California 14 states short of the contiginous 48. Which leaves some states grey. Which leaves our goal unfulfilled. Which means that we will return to the road again, before long.
In the meantime, our camper is going to get a good dousing with 409, the trailer will settle in for a long stint as our garage, and the truck will dream of being a race car, free of his 4,000-pound burden. And as for us, we'll try to get used to the freedom of daily bathing.
